This article by published on The Guardian that I found through our Social Media Magazine was really interesting to me because I love to learn via youtube. With over half of students being visual learners, I find that youtube videos are a great supplement to in class lectures. I like to watch Crash Course videos on science because of they way they explain things; they are easy to understand, especially with the animations they use.
I believe social media is a blessing and a curse. The power we have in our hands in unbelievable. I am constantly goolging things and using my phone to make my day run smoother. I even use my smart watch to monitor my activity levels throughout the day and to see approximately how many calories I’m burning when I work out. Check out this post did on facebook about wearable technology. However, on the other hand, the power that these phones have can be detrimental. Social media can exacerbate preexisting mental health issues, such a body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders. Constantly seeing other people’s “highlight reels” can really weigh on someone who has these such preexisting conditions. It is important that we understand the power these phones have in order to “use their power for good”. I really like how the video below depicts the good and the bad aspects of social media.
I enjoyed using buffer as a social media posting tool. I liked that I didn’t have to make sure I was near my laptop in order to post something. This website made scheduling posts easy and efficient.

I also created this post for Facebook using canva.
